We purchased this toddler bed for my daughter when she was ready to leave the crib. Though she fell out of it once, it was near enough to the ground that no real harm was done. The proximity to the floor was what drew us to purchase this bed.Since we handed it down to our second child, however, we have had a different sort of problem. He has rolled over and given himself three black eyes on the wooden side "rails" in the past 4 months and I find myself wishing we had purchased something different.Additionally, I recall one of the pre-drilled holes being in the wrong place and another hole that was supposed to have threads for screwing in a bolt was stripped. I give this bed 3 out of 5 stars because if we'd never moved it and if we'd never had a second child, it would have been satisfactory. Instead, I find myself looking for something else.

My daughter is 4 months old, and has claustrophobia problems. When we had her pack and play and she was fine on the upper level, yet when she needed to be lowered, she had a fit. She would kick and scream and would press the mesh to try to get through it. I ended up putting her on top of a bunch of blankets on the floor surrounded by pillows. She was so happy like that but she needed a real bed. I didn't want to get anything babish like a barbi car bed or something. She's very much a little girl and I never dress her up or treat her like a baby. Doing some browsing on beds, I thought that this was perfect. Putting it together was simple and a no brainer. It's so cute, and such a little girls bed. It's the perfect size for her, great level right above the floor, and again so cute! It looks so sweet in her bedroom. If you're considering this, I say buy it! I would definitely recommend this bed and am very very pleased with this purchase! The only Con I have, is that she will outgrow this at one point...
